August Chernigoj (Trieste, 24. August 1898. - Sežana, November 17 1985.), Slovenian painter i graphic artist.

He studied in Trieste, Bologna, Munich and Weimar at Bauhaus. The first is the representative constructivism among Slovenian artists, and gradually developed to abstractions. He asserted himself as decorator (inlays) and painter of monumental wall compositions. IN oil was working landscapes, figures and dead nature. He issued a map woodcut "Slovenian Poets and Writers" and the folder "Graphics". He exhibited in Maribor, Trieste, Zagreb, Zurich, Venice.
