Description

Ivo Vojvodić was born on November 29, 1923 in Dubrovnik. He started his first grade in Trebinje, continued elementary school in Dubrovnik, and male civil school, and in 1943 he graduated from teacher training school. In 1945 he entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, his professors were Ivo Režek, Jerolim Miše, Antun Mezdjić, Krsto Hegedušić, Omer Mujadžić. In 1948, after excellent success at the Academy, he was accepted for further studies for two years as a specialist with prof. Đure Tiljko.

In 1953, he finished his special course, and exhibited for the first time at the collective exhibition of the Association of Croatian Fine Artists in Zagreb. He studied in Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Sweden. In 1955, he exhibited for the first time independently in the Likum gallery in Zagreb. In 1962, he had his first solo exhibition abroad in Bologna. After that, he exhibits at about fifty independent and 250 collective exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Ivo Vojvodić died in 1994 in Dubrovnik.
