Description

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1937 in the class of professors Omer Mujadžić, Ljubo Babić and Marino Tartaglia. He then studied in Paris in 1938/39. He studied in Italy in 1952. He exhibited for the first time in 1938. at the "Half Century of Croatian Art" exhibition, then he has solo exhibitions in Zagreb, Rijeka, Belgrade, Ohrid, Sarajevo, Sao Paolo, Venice, Turin, Milan, Genoa, etc. Twice in 1962 and 1964 he was chosen to exhibit at the Venice Biennale.

He painted landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and is universally recognized for his thunderbolts.
With his persuasive expression, he became part of the European art history of the XNUMXth century.
Gromače can be found in numerous private collections and museums in the country and around the world. It is represented in anthologies of world painting.
