Description

Vjekoslav Vojo Radoičić (Požega, November 10, 1930 – Rijeka, July 15, 2017) was a Croatian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, scenographer, and sculptor who also exhibited in Austria.

He lived and worked in Rijeka, Vienna and Begovo Razdolje. Vojo Radoičić held over 180 independent exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He created more than 40 sets for television and theater productions.
His opus of embroidered paintings on decorative cloths for the kitchen walls is known, about which HTV made a documentary film (in the documentary they were called "cloth paintings").
He died in Rijeka on July 15, 2017 at the age of 87.

Regular member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists of Rijeka and Zagreb and VBO (Verein Bildenden Kunstler Osterreichs, Wien – Schonbrun).
He is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, among others, the Ostend Award, the Redemption Award for the City Museum Fund, the Annual Award of the City of Rijeka, and he was also awarded the Order of the Croatian Danica with the image of Marko Marulić for his contribution to culture. He received the Grigor Vitez award and the Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić award for illustrating a children's book.

Radoičić was a Croatian candidate for the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen illustration award, and he also won the Vladimir Nazor Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
