Description

Keser, Zlatko, Croatian painter (Zagreb, January 23, 1942). Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1967 (O. Postružnik), and has been teaching there since 1982. Regular member of HAZU since 2004. He was an associate of the K. Hegedušić Master Workshop (1971–75). Painter of imaginative scenes in which figural and organic associations are interwoven with free chromatic fields and signs. The so-called with infantile handwriting and caressed coloristic material, with unusual and fierce contrasts (Mom, tell dad to give me back my bicycle, 1982; Stigma, 1990). In the cycles of drawings, often with erotic content, he is closer to surrealism and art-brut (Impuls črušne pričte, 1993–94). He works in graphics, book illustration and wall painting (frescoes in public spaces in Koprivnica and Zagreb). He is the winner of the "Vladimir Nazor" Lifetime Achievement Award for 2015.
