Description

ladimir Veličković was born in Belgrade (former Yugoslavia) in 1935. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade in 1960, he turned to painting, and in 1963 he had his first solo exhibition. In 1965, he received an award at the Biennale in Paris, where he continues to live and work until today. After the exhibition in the Dragon gallery in 1967, he became known to the general public and began to act as one of the most important artists of narrative figuration.

He was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris in 1983, where he remained teaching for the next 18 years. Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Member of the Academy of Fine Arts - Institute in France. Knight's Order of Arts and Letters in France. Chivalry of the Legion of Honor in France.
